Contributions from ZQuest users other than myself will be listed here. Would you like to make a contribution? Check out this thread from the AGN Forums.
Each contribution is assigned a complexity rating of either "Low," "Moderate," or "High" by me. This rating is based on the amount of knowledge beyond the scope of the tutorial sections written by me I feel you need to know to be able to fully understand what is going on. "Low" generally means you need little to no additional knowledge (i.e. most of the concepts discussed are explained in earlier sections of the tutorial), "Moderate" generally means some additional knowledge is required, and "High" generally means extensive additional knowledge is required. If you have any questions about these additions, contact the author of the addition for assistance, not me.
Complexity Rating: Low
KJAZZ has documented all the known "hotkeys" (i.e. keyboard shortcuts) in ZQuest. Memorize these hotkeys and you can greatly increase your ZQuest efficiency. A must-read! Very printer-friendly too!
Complexity Rating: Low
Hypercrash came up with a method to simulate "Take Any One You Want" rooms where any two items can be offered, not just a Red Potion or a Heart Container. Using this method, you can force the player into making some rather interesting choices. Let's see, will it be the Red Ring or the Master Sword today?
Complexity Rating: Moderate
As Jigglysaint pointed out, "even though this is now common knowledge, this was and still is my key contribution the the ZQuest community." You can create treasure chests a la "A Link to the Past" that can be opened using the sword.
Complexity Rating: Moderate
Would you like your boss rooms to have different music than the rest of the dungeon, a la "The Adventure of Link" and "A Link to the Past?" It's not as hard as you think. Just follow this simple procedure.
Complexity Rating: Not applicable, I think...
Yeah, I pretty much included this one as a joke. But hey, sometimes you need to know when to just throw in the towel...
